Dr. Khaled Zennir - Associate Professor of Mathematics, Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Qassim University, Saudi Arabia

I am very pleased to act as the guest editor for issue 2 volume 5 of the BAU Journal of Science and Technology.

This journal publishes international and interdisciplinary articles featuring innovative and valuable research for the community, spanning various fields of Science and Technology, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering, Its multidisciplinary approach uniquely contributes to the advancement and dissemination of scholarly studies in Science and Technology.

Issue 2 volume 5 contains 10 articles: In the first article 1120, the authors introduced a new image segmentation technique based on the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution. It is followed by two review articles. The aim of the paper 1124 is to explore the use of various herbal extracts in endodontics, while the paper 1125 aims to highlight the various recent clinical applications of cryotherapy in endodontics, detailing its physiological mechanisms and its impact on postoperative pain and inflammation. Then comes the paper 1126 where the authors present the "Lodge in the Green" project, which has been carefully designed to adhere to LEED Certification principles. Using the artificial intelligence, the authors of the article 1127 introduce a novel mental profiling test specifically created for authentication purposes. The test was evaluated on a sample of 100 users and the results demonstrated its ability to accurately identify users with a high level of confidence. Paper 1131 focuses on examining the individual effects of sugar and salt on mortar mixes. Noting that sugar and salt are more cost-effective than traditional commercial admixtures for delaying setting time. Additionally, it explores a new concept by investigating the combined effects of both salt and sugar on mortar. It is followed by a biological study (1133) where the aim is to investigate if the effects of capecitabine treatment in human colon cancer can be translated into one that enhances the efficacity capecitabine. In the paper 1134 , the research is focused on the application of the Ion Beam Analysis technique (IBA) to study excavated ceramics from Tyre . The author of the paper 1135 emphasize that many known limit points of the Mahler measure for univariate polynomials can be derived from the Mahler measure of low-degree bivariate polynomials. The purpose of the last paper 1136 is to study the usage of natural fibers in plant-based natural fiber-rein forced cement-based composites for sustainable construction materials.
