Dear authors, reviewers, and readers of Architecture and Planning Journal (APJ). It gives me pleasure to be the guest editor of this new issue and to welcome you to Volume 27, Issue 2 of the Journal.

The vision of this journal is to create a high-quality publication that is relevant, challenging, thought-provoking, and inclusive of a various range of perspectives, including graduate students, academic researchers, and scholars. The immediacy of e-based publication makes it possible for us all to be fully connected, to access recent developments in our field, and to be directly involved in the ongoing production of knowledge.

The journal deals with diverse and comprehensive approaches in architecture, urban planning, and built environment, such as exploring a new urban strategy, regional planning with the climate change risk, improving design guidelines, enhancing safety and security in designing, defining concepts and approaches of different building types, reducing pollution and recycling in the sustainable design, reflections of the language on architecture, and designing with COVID 19.

Through this diversity, we can obtain a modern and updated perspective that allows interested readers to study in-depth these fields of architecture and urban design.

Once more, on behalf of the editorial board members, I welcome you to APJ.
