It is really a pleasure for me to act as invited guest-editor for the present volume of the BAU Journal of Science and Technology. The journal provides an international and interdisciplinary platform for dissemination of new research in the field of science and technology, including civil, structural and geotechnical engineering. This volume contains a number of interesting contributions from different fields in Sciences and Technology. The multi-disciplinary feature of the journal makes it attractive. The current volume contains 10 research papers.
The first paper (1026) is about rotational motion of micropolar fluid. It is followed by paper (1029) about the improvements of cross entropy thresholding for skin cancer detection. After that we have paper (1032) on lead and cadmium detoxification by halophilic bacteria isolated from solar salters in Lebanon and paper (1033) about Nano-spheres based and Nano-roads localized surface Plasmon resonance refractive index biosensors. Paper (1036) is on the optimization of supermarket checkout counters using integrated greedy algorithm while paper (1037) is about the technology of mobility hubs in autopian futuristic cities. Paper (1041) is on a novel probabilistic framework of corroded structures under dynamic loading and the dynamic soil-structure interaction analysis is the subject of paper (1051). The volume ends with two papers; paper (1052) is on the properties of concrete containing crushed limestone as total replacement of natural sand and recycled engine oil and paper (1053) is on the new limit points of Mahler measure by methods of missing data restoration.
Readers will be captured by the topics of this issue and would enjoy the reading.
