Volume 5, Issue 2 (2023)

Dr. Loia Albarqouni - Assistant Professor at Bond University and Centre for Research in Evidence-Based Practice (CREBP)

I am pleased to serve as a guest editor for this special issue of the BAU HWB Journal. My research expertise includes evidence-informed decision-making, effective non-drug interventions, and overdiagnosis and overuse of healthcare services in limited resources settings. This special issue describes various aspects of healthcare in Lebanon. Specifically, they all focus on different issues or challenges relevant to healthcare professionals, students, or the wider community in the country. For example, the topics cover addiction, sedation, nutrition, drug disposal, plant biology, medical case management, pandemic response, rare diseases, and public health awareness. By examining this special issue, researchers may gain a more comprehensive understanding of the current state of healthcare in Lebanon and identify potential areas for improvement.
