Abstract
The growing engagement of artists with ecological challenges is a significant trend in the Anthropocene era. Most often, some of them feel driven by a sense of responsibility regarding the impact of industry and consumer society on the environment. Their commitment becomes a form of activism, mobilization or even a simple commercial niche to exploit. By observing this enthusiasm in the art world for environmental issues, we can ask ourselves the following questions: despite their sometimes lack of in-depth knowledge, where does the role of artists begin and end in this complex universe? Does their commitment have real power to limit environmental damage? By opening the debate in areas that are not necessarily theirs (finance, industry, climatology, etc.), are they concretely contributing to raising public awareness and inspiring actions aimed at combating climate change?

L'engagement croissant des artistes face aux défis écologiques est une tendance significative à l'ère de l'anthropocène. Le plus souvent, certains d’entre eux se sentent poussés par un sentiment de responsabilité face à l'impact de l'industrie et de la société de consommation sur l'environnement. Leur engagement devient une forme de militantisme, de mobilisation voire même un simple créneau commercial à exploiter. En observant cet engouement du monde de l’art pour les enjeux environnementaux, nous pouvons nous poser le questionnement suivant : malgré leur manque parfois de connaissances approfondies, où commence et où se termine le rôle des artistes dans cet univers complexe ? Leur engagement a-t-il un réel pouvoir de limiter les dégâts environnementaux ? En ouvrant le débat dans des domaines qui ne sont pas nécessairement les leurs (finances, industrie, climatologie…), contribuent-ils concrètement à sensibiliser le public et à inspirer des actions visant à lutter contre le changement climatique ?
